When do you run camps for school groups?
Y Discovery Camps offer programs throughout the year, during the week and at weekends. Summer and weekdays are our busiest times of the year, so we'd encourage you to join us during winter and over the weekends.

What accommodation options are available at your school camps?
Our school camps offer a variety of accommodation options to suit every group size and comfort level. Looking for school camping sites where students can pitch a tent and sleep under the stars? All of our locations offer camping in tents for large school groups. Or if you prefer to stay in comfortable indoor accommodation, we have school camp cabins and shared bunk-style rooms across our locations. Accessible rooms and bathrooms are also available at all camp locations. You can use our camp finder to see which camp best meets your school's accommodation needs.

Where are your school camps in Victoria located?
We have six Y Discovery Camps located across Victoria. Whether you're looking for an alpine school camp in Victoria, an adventure by the coast, or a school camp near Melbourne, you can find a location to suit your school.
Our camp locations are:
- Anglesea Discovery Camp, located on the Great Ocean Road around 90 minutes from Melbourne.
- Camp Manyung, located on the Mornington Peninsula around an hour from Melbourne.
- Howmans Gap Alpine Discovery Camp, located by Falls Creek in Victoria's alpine region.
- Lake Dewar Discovery Camp, located an hour from Melbourne in Myrniong, near Werribee Gorge.
- Lady Northcote Discovery Camp, located in the Rowsley Valley near Bacchus Marsh, just 50 minutes from Melbourne.

Is Y Discovery Camps CASA-compliant and safe for school excursions?
Yes. Our programs are designed to meet Victorian school excursion and CASA (Camps, Sport and Adventure Activity) requirements, and we can provide a risk assessment and safety management plan to support your school's excursion approval process.

What's your staff-to-student ratio?
Ratios vary depending on the activity, age group, campsite, and Victorian guidelines. We'll confirm the specific ratio for your program when we build your itinerary.

How do you manage students with allergies, medical conditions or additional needs?

What financial assistance is available for families who can't afford camp?
Schools can apply for the Camps, Sports and Excursions Fund (CSEF) to help cover costs for eligible families, and we're happy to work with your school on payment plans or package adjustments where needed.
