Our team structure
The Y Discovery Camps operates using the following structure:
Camp Manager
- Oversees the entire camps operations and experience
- Ensures guests needs are met and all safety practices, policy, and procedures are compliant
- Directs YMCA staff on-site
- Acts as main liaison between partners
Operations Manager (only at Lake Dewar)
- Manages the daily operations of the site across all departments
Operations Director or Service Director
- Responsible for operations at site when manager is off-site
- Directly responsible for 2-3 departments (depending upon skillset)
- Service Director usually acts as the main admin person, whereas the Operations Director usually runs the program, maintenance, cleaning areas (varies from site to site)
Program Coordinator
- Leads the Program team
- Responsible for managing the writing of programs, training, health and safety, and maintenance of program equipment
- Ensures learning outcomes are achieved and risk management procedures are adhered to
- Delivers camp program activities
- Leads guests through activities and experiences
- Must be qualified or studying Cert IV in Outdoor Recreation and CPR
Program Officer
- Assists the Program Coordinator in the management of training, health and safety, equipment maintenance
- Ensures learning outcomes are achieved and risk management procedures are adhered to
- Delivers camp program activities
- Leads guests through activities and experiences
- First aid and CPR trained
Administration Officer
- Manages bookings and customer enquiries
- Handles orders and finances
- Liaises with customers
Maintenance and Cleaning Teams
- Ensure compliance across maintenance and cleaning areas
