Last month, 17 well-loved bikes from Mt Evelyn Discovery Camp found a new home and a fresh purpose. Thanks to 99 Bikes in Bayswater, the bikes were donated to Brainwave Bikes, a social enterprise driven by an inspiring mission.
Brainwave Bikes is a not-for-profit that repairs and sells pre-loved bicycles. Their work supports Brainwave Australia, the only national charity helping families and kids with brain injuries and illnesses. They also provide work experience and employment for young people with disabilities and help to keep bikes out of landfill.
By teaming up with 99 Bikes Bayswater and Brainwave Bikes, our bikes will continue to bring value to communities beyond camp – not only by helping children and families in need, but also by reducing waste and supporting sustainability.
Mt Evelyn Discovery Camp is proud to support such an important initiative – it’s the kind of impact we love to make at the Y Discovery Camps! Isn’t it amazing what a set of wheels and a whole lot of purpose can achieve?
