At Howmans Gap, we can create an experience tailored to your needs. We offer a variety of packages throughout the year - from snow adventures in winter, to experiencing the alpine high country in summer.
Everyone is welcome in winter - from individuals and families to schools and community groups. We usually cater for schools during the week, and individuals, families and community groups on weekends and during school holidays. In summer, our camp is open to schools and large groups (whilst we accept groups of any size, for groups under 20 guests additional charges may apply).
Our packages include a range of accommodation options and programs and activities - with tailored pricing based on your requirements. For example, you have the 50% option - where half of the activities are led by our camp leaders and other other half by your teachers or group leaders; or you can choose the 100% option - where all activities are instructed by our camp leaders.

Winter packages for individual bookings, families and groups

- Once a booking is confirmed any amendments to the booking will attract a $59 booking amendment fee.
Additional information for visitors to Howmans Gap:
- It is a requirement that all vehicles must carry chains during the specified snow season.
- Falls Creek does not have a fuel station. The closest fuel stop is Mt Beauty, located approximately 33kms at the bottom of the mountain.
- All drivers should fill their vehicle up before making their way up the mountain. Mt Beauty fuel stations are open from 7am - 7pm all year round.
- Diesel vehicles must refuel with Alpine Diesel from Myrtleford, Mount Beauty, Bright, or other local suppliers prior to arrival at YMCA Howmans Gap Discovery Camp.
- Guests will need to pay Falls Creek resort entry fee.
- YMCA Falls Creek Cross Country can assist with all of your pre booked XC ski hire, instruction and gear.
Cancellation Policy
In the event of a cancellation due to natural events or government direction – all deposit amounts will offered roll over to the following year, or be refunded (minus a $50 administration fee).
Howmans Gap Alpine Discovery Camp does not provide a snow guarantee and will not refund accommodation or meal fees related to a cancellation due to snowfall or non-attendance. -

We take schools bookings for during the week. You can stay at Howmans Gap from one night to six nights, with all meals included. You can also choose how much you want your school camping program to be instructed by us. For example, you have the 50% option - where half of the activities are led by our camp leaders and other other half by your teachers; or you can choose the 100% option - where all activities are instructed by our camp leaders. The choice is yours.

Includes:
- three days, two nights accommodation
