History of Lady Northcote
The campsite was first opened in 1937 as the Lady Northcote Farm School. This scheme provided British orphaned children with housing and education, until the scheme ended in 1973. Following this, the Lady Northcote Farm also closed in 1976. Since 1997, the Lady Northcote Discovery Camp has occupied the site of the former farm village.
