This is an exciting opportunity for the youth of Albury and Wodonga to be involved in an expedition that is more than a journey on the Victorian High Plains – it is a journey of personal development to help them reach their full potential as leaders.

The Victorian High Plains is a recreational playground for a broad range of activities. It provides 360 degree panoramic views, kilometres of rambling along aqueducts, abseiling, orienteering, bushwalking, cycling and camping.

The ten day expedition, led by experienced guides and community volunteers, includes breathtaking views, visits to cattlemen huts, abseiling and environmental projects with Parks Victoria. There will be guest speakers en route, and accommodation at Howman's Gap Alpine Centre and Rovers Lodge, as well as camping in lightweight tents, and communal cooking to further the team building responsibilities. Prior to the expedition, the young people take part in planning and preparation sessions with participant involvement in how the team will move across the high plains.

This personal development program provides training in teamwork, planning, communication, leadership, empathy and understanding, and social and environment responsibility, and how to apply their learning in day-to-day life.

YMCA Victoria, Youth Albury Wodonga (YAW) and National Australia Bank are working together to provide this program for the young people of Albury and Wodonga.
